Jeremy Doku believes Manchester City are now seeing the “better version” of him, after producing a standout performance in their 5-2 win over Juventus at the Club World Cup. Jeremy Doku's contributions are vital as Manchester City aims to reclaim its dominant form.

The Belgian winger opened the scoring in Orlando as Pep Guardiola’s side swept aside the Italian giants — and, more importantly, looked more like the City of old. Fans of Manchester City have high hopes for Jeremy Doku’s continued success.

City’s pressing, intensity, and flair had faded during a tough 2024/25 season. But with fresh faces and a reset approach, Doku believes something has clicked.

“You’re Seeing a Glimpse of the Best Me” – Doku

“When I play free and with the trust of the coach, you see a better version of me — and now you’re seeing a glimpse of it.” — Jeremy Doku

Doku looked confident and direct throughout the game, linking well with Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders, two of City’s new signings. He said the group stayed connected from start to finish and is hungry to build from here

Faith, Freedom and Pep’s Trust

Asked why he felt so confident on the pitch, Doku gave credit to his faith.

“It’s more to do with my faith,” he said. “I’m more occupied with that and I give all the glory to my Lord and our saviour Jesus Christ.”

He added that Pep Guardiola’s belief in him has allowed him to play with freedom — something that has clearly translated into better performances.
