Ipswich explore ambitious Tottenham double deal for Odobert and Hall

Ipswich Town are reportedly exploring an ambitious double transfer for Tottenham duo Wilson Odobert and Tyrese Hall before the summer window closes.

The Tractor Boys have already been one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs following their promotion, but Gary O’Neil’s side are seemingly not finished yet.

After opening their campaign with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland, Ipswich are now looking towards Tottenham as they attempt to strengthen both their immediate attacking options and longer-term midfield depth.

According to journalist Darren Witcoop, Ipswich are exploring a move for Odobert as Tottenham’s attacking overhaul potentially pushes the Frenchman down the pecking order.

The 21-year-old joined Spurs from Burnley for around £25m in 2024 and made 32 appearances before suffering a serious ACL injury in February.

Odobert is now closing in on his return.

His pace and ability to attack defenders could provide another dimension to an Ipswich squad already strengthened considerably this summer.

There is also increasing competition for attacking places at Tottenham.

Savinho and Omar Marmoush have arrived, while Spurs could still add another attacker before the deadline. James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski are also expected to return from injury.

That could make regular football increasingly difficult for Odobert under Roberto De Zerbi.

Ipswich are also considering 21-year-old midfielder Tyrese Hall as part of a potential double raid.

Hall spent last season on loan at Notts County and impressed with eight goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, helping the club secure promotion from League Two.

The Jamaica international has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Tottenham, meaning Ipswich would likely view him as a player with significant development potential rather than an immediate guaranteed starter.

Tottenham have shown a willingness to allow young players to leave this summer when opportunities elsewhere can accelerate their development.

Hall could be another to benefit from that approach.

Odobert is arguably the more ambitious part of the proposed double deal.

He received opportunities last season before his injury and remains a highly rated young attacker. However, Tottenham’s aggressive recruitment has dramatically increased competition around him.

Ipswich could potentially offer something Spurs cannot currently guarantee: a clearer pathway towards regular Premier League football.

Whether Tottenham are prepared to sanction permanent departures, loans or potentially different structures for the two players remains unclear.

Ipswich must now decide whether to turn their interest into formal approaches to Tottenham before the transfer deadline.

Odobert’s situation could be particularly interesting. With Spurs strengthening heavily in attack and the 21-year-old returning from a major injury, regular football elsewhere could become an attractive option if Tottenham are willing to negotiate.
