David Moyes shuts down Iliman Ndiaye transfer talk amid Arsenal and Man City links

David Moyes has insisted Everton are “not in a hurry” to sell their best players after Iliman Ndiaye was linked with Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Senegal international has been the subject of speculation over a potential move away from Hill Dickinson Stadium, but Moyes says Everton have received no approach for the attacker.

The Toffees manager also dismissed previous claims that Al-Hilal had contacted Everton about Ndiaye, warning that plenty of inaccurate transfer information has circulated this summer.

Ndiaye's future has attracted attention with Arsenal and Manchester City reportedly monitoring his situation.

However, Moyes made Everton's current position clear when asked about the speculation.

“We’re certainly not in a hurry to sell our best players, that’s for sure,” Moyes said.

“As far as I know, we’ve got nothing to be concerned about, we’ve had no contact from any club.”

That suggests neither Arsenal nor Manchester City have made a formal approach to Everton at this stage.

Moyes' comments also underline Ndiaye's importance at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Everton showing no desire to actively facilitate an exit.

The Everton manager also used the opportunity to address reports that Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal had previously made contact about Ndiaye.

According to Moyes, those claims were incorrect.

“Somebody told me we had contact from Al-Hilal during the summer, we had nothing from them,” he said.

“There’s a lot of stuff that floats around which is not always true. Maybe this is true but certainly the stuff previous wasn’t.”

While Moyes did not completely dismiss the latest Arsenal and Manchester City links, he stressed that Everton have seen no concrete evidence of interest arriving at the club.

With the transfer window nearing its conclusion, Everton's stance gives potential suitors little encouragement.

Ndiaye is regarded as one of the club's key players and Moyes has made it clear there is no urgency to cash in.

That could still be tested if Arsenal or Manchester City decide to make an official proposal, but for now the situation remains firmly at the speculation stage.

Unless Arsenal or Manchester City turn their reported interest into a concrete approach, Ndiaye looks set to remain at Everton.

Moyes has left little doubt about Everton's preference to keep the attacker, meaning any late move would likely require a significant change in the situation before the transfer deadline.
