Tottenham have contacted Liverpool over a deal for Harvey Elliott, with the midfielder now open to a move amid growing competition from West Ham, Brighton and Newcastle.

Tottenham Hotspur have made Harvey Elliott a key alternative to Morgan Gibbs-White, as they ramp up summer transfer activity in search of a creative midfield spark.

According to TeamTalk, Spurs have formally inquired about Elliott’s availability — and Liverpool are now open to letting the 21-year-old leave for the right price.

Why Tottenham See Elliott as a Smart Plan B

Tottenham had previously focused on Morgan Gibbs-White, but the midfielder signed a new three-year deal at Nottingham Forest — forcing Spurs to look elsewhere.

Elliott is admired by Thomas Frank for his energy, versatility and technical quality in tight spaces. He can operate as a No.10, right-sided midfielder or even wide forward, offering depth across attacking roles.

Spurs believe Elliott could thrive in North London, especially under a manager who prioritises movement and fluid passing football.

Liverpool’s Price Tag and Why a Sale Is on the Cards

While Elliott is a lifelong Liverpool fan and remains under contract, CaughtOffside reports the Reds are open to selling him for £50 million.

The reason? Florian Wirtz’s £85m arrival from Bayer Leverkusen has added to an already crowded midfield — and Liverpool are under pressure to balance the books.

“We love Harvey, but he needs to play regularly at this stage of his career,” said an Anfield source. — TBR Football

Elliott Open to Leaving for Regular Football

Harvey Elliott has already hinted that he may have to leave Liverpool to secure regular minutes — especially with Wirtz, Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones ahead of him in the pecking order.

Tottenham are keen to take advantage of that situation, but they’ll face stiff competition.

Premier League Rivals in the Race

Spurs aren’t alone. According to TBR FootballNewcastleEvertonWest Ham and Brighton have all expressed interest in Elliott this summer.

However, Tottenham’s project — with guaranteed European football and an open spot in midfield — could give them the edge if they meet Liverpool’s asking price.

Analyst Verdict

Selling Elliott might sting for Liverpool fans, but financially and tactically, it makes sense. Wirtz will command the central spaces, and Elliott needs consistent minutes to grow. For Spurs, this could be a low-risk, high-ceiling deal — especially if they secure him below the £50m mark. He fits the Ange-ball mould and could thrive with more freedom in attack.

Actually not a bad move under Thomas Frank he'll get plenty of playing time and he won't have the same competition for his position as playing for Liverpool.
