Juventus have identified Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as their preferred target this summer, but the proposed deal is unlikely to appeal to the Premier League club.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A giants remain in the market for a new goalkeeper after cooling their interest in Liverpool's Alisson Becker and struggling to meet Aston Villa's valuation of Emiliano Martínez.
Juventus prefer Vicario
Vicario and Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki are currently Juventus' two leading options.
However, the latest developments surrounding Suzuki have pushed the Tottenham goalkeeper back to the top of the club's shortlist.
The problem is Juventus' preferred transfer structure.
The Italian club would only pursue Vicario if Tottenham agreed to a season-long loan with no obligation or option to buy, allowing the goalkeeper to return to North London next summer.
That proposal appears unlikely to appeal to Spurs, who invested heavily in Vicario and would be expected to seek either a permanent transfer or a loan containing future purchase guarantees.
Suzuki deal becomes complicated
Juventus' alternative target has also become more difficult to sign.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in Suzuki, with the French champions considering signing the Japan international before potentially sending him out on loan.
Juventus are reluctant to develop a goalkeeper owned by another club, particularly if PSG intend to assess him for their own long-term plans.

Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu has also re-entered Juventus' thinking, although he is currently viewed as an alternative rather than the primary target.
