Wolverhampton receive new Fiorentina offer for Tolu Arokodare

Fiorentina have stepped up their pursuit of Wolverhampton striker Tolu Arokodare by submitting an improved offer as the Serie A club continue their busy summer rebuild.

After strengthening both defence and midfield, sporting director Fabio Paratici has turned his attention to adding another centre-forward, with the Nigeria international now emerging as the club's priority attacking target.

However, Fiorentina's pursuit of Arokodare is closely linked to another transfer, with non-EU registration rules likely to force the Italian club into an important decision.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina have presented a second offer for Arokodare in an attempt to convince Wolverhampton to negotiate.

The proposal is understood to be a loan with an option to buy worth €22 million, improving on the club's initial approach.

The 26-year-old has attracted interest from elsewhere, with clubs in Germany and Turkey monitoring his situation. Trabzonspor have already attempted to sign the striker but failed to convince the player over a move.

Fiorentina remain hopeful they can move into pole position with their latest proposal.

Arokodare's arrival could have wider implications for Fiorentina's transfer plans.

The Viola are also pursuing highly-rated midfielder Christ Inao Oulai, with Trabzonspor reportedly demanding around €30 million for the Ivorian youngster.

However, Italian registration rules mean Fiorentina only have one remaining non-EU squad place available for a player who meets the required international appearance criteria.

Both Arokodare and Oulai qualify under those regulations, but the club currently has room to register only one of them.

That means Fiorentina may ultimately have to choose between strengthening their attack or investing in midfield.

Fiorentina have already enjoyed an active transfer window, adding several new faces as Paratici reshapes the squad ahead of the new season.

With defensive reinforcements already secured and midfield depth improved, attacking additions have become the next priority.

Arokodare's physical presence and goalscoring ability make him an attractive option, but the registration situation could complicate negotiations if Fiorentina remain determined to sign Oulai as well.

Fiorentina will await Wolverhampton's response to their latest proposal while continuing talks over Oulai. With only one non-EU registration place effectively available, the club may soon have to decide which transfer is the greater priority before the summer window closes.
