Fiorentina agree Alex Jimenez deal with Bournemouth

Fiorentina have completed another impressive piece of summer business after reaching an agreement with Bournemouth for full-back Alex Jimenez.

The former AC Milan youngster is set to join the Viola on loan with an option to buy, becoming the club's fourth signing in what has already been a busy July.

The move is now in its final stages, with the player already in Florence to complete the formalities.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Fiorentina have agreed a deal with Bournemouth for the 20-year-old defender.

Jimenez will initially arrive on loan, while Fiorentina have secured an option to make the transfer permanent for €20 million at the end of the season.

The structure of the agreement gives the Serie A side the opportunity to assess the Spanish youngster over the coming campaign before making a final decision on a permanent transfer.

The transfer is now close to being completed.

Reports state that Jimenez has already arrived in Florence and has begun his medical examinations.

After completing the first part of his physical tests, the defender travelled to Fiorentina's training centre to finalise the remaining medical procedures before signing his contract.

Jimenez first caught the attention of Italian football during his time with AC Milan before moving to Bournemouth.

Still only 20, the Spanish defender is regarded as a player with significant potential and the versatility to operate across the defensive line.
