Brighton have a decision to make over Ferdi Kadıoğlu’s future after Galatasaray reportedly opened talks to sign the Turkey international on loan.
The 24-year-old only joined the Seagulls last summer after a strong showing at Euro 2024, but injuries and form saw him fall out of Fabian Hürzeler plans. Now, Super Lig champions Galatasaray are pushing to take him back to Turkey for next season.
“Contacts Have Been Made” – Journalist Confirms Galatasaray Talks
Turkish journalist Zeki Uzundurukan told Haber Sarikirmizi that Galatasaray have already initiated dialogue with Brighton.
“Galatasaray want to loan Ferdi Kadıoğlu from Brighton and even contacts have been made. There is a preparation for a meeting. Either he stays as Brighton’s third-choice left-back or plays Champions League football with Galatasaray.” — Zeki Uzundurukan
Fenerbahce were also previously linked with their former player, but Uzundurukan claims no approach has been made by them so far.
Brighton's Kadıoğlu Conundrum: Squad Player or Loan Out?
Kadıoğlu's contract runs until June 2028, meaning Brighton remain in control. But with the player behind two other options in the pecking order, a Champions League loan spell could benefit all parties.
Despite limited minutes last season, the Turkish full-back still managed to score twice in just eight appearances — a sign of his attacking upside when fit.

Analyse
Kadıoğlu has clear talent but struggled for fitness and rhythm at Brighton. With Champions League football on offer in Turkey, a Galatasaray loan may help rebuild his confidence and value before a long-term Premier League reassessment.
Key Slight
- Galatasaray have opened loan talks with Brighton
- Fenerbahce yet to make a formal approach
- Kadıoğlu scored 2 goals in limited minutes last season
- Brighton must choose between a squad role or loan development
What's Next?
Brighton will meet with Galatasaray in the coming days. If talks progress, the Seagulls could look to include an option-to-buy clause or insist on full wages being covered.
Should Brighton send Ferdi Kadıoğlu out on loan or give him another shot this season?

I dont think he's the type of guy that would move to Galatasaray because he has played for Fenerbahce once.. But, it's football - so you never know, players can decide anything whatever they want.
