Ferdi Kadıoğlu has no intention of leaving Brighton this summer despite fresh reports linking the defender with a return to Fenerbahce.
The 26-year-old has once again been mentioned as a target for his former club, with reports in Türkiye suggesting Fenerbahce could make a late attempt to bring him back.
However, journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu has firmly dismissed the possibility of a transfer.
Kadıoğlu happy at Brighton
Reports in Türkiye had claimed Fenerbahce were considering Kadıoğlu as a potential signing if they overcome Lyon in the Champions League.
It was even suggested that discussions had taken place with both the player and Brighton over a possible move.
Hamzaoğlu has now provided a very different version of events, making clear that Kadıoğlu is settled in England.
“Ferdi Kadıoğlu is currently very happy in England,” he said. “There is absolutely no possibility of him coming to Fenerbahçe this season.”
That appears to close the door on a return to Türkiye, at least during the current transfer window.
Kadıoğlu has regularly been linked with Fenerbahce since leaving the club to join Brighton in 2024, but those rumours have so far failed to develop into a transfer.
Brighton have little reason to sell
From Brighton's perspective, allowing Kadıoğlu to leave this late in the window would also create an unnecessary problem.
The Turkey international is one of the club's main options at left-back alongside Maxim De Cuyper, while his versatility means he can also operate on the right side of defence.
That flexibility is particularly useful given Brighton have continued to use Mats Wieffer at right-back.
Kadıoğlu has generally impressed since arriving in the Premier League and remains an important part of Brighton's defensive options.
There is also nothing in the latest reporting to suggest Brighton are actively looking to sell him.
With the player happy in England and the Seagulls having little incentive to weaken their squad, the latest Fenerbahce links appear unlikely to develop any further.
