Fabian Hürzeler responds to Manchester United links as Brighton boss insists journey is not over
Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has reiterated his commitment to the club amid speculation linking him with the Manchester United job.
The 33-year-old has guided the Seagulls to third place in the Premier League, with an eight-match unbeaten run strengthening his reputation.
However, Hürzeler insists his work at the Amex Stadium remains unfinished.
Hürzeler committed to Brighton project
Speaking ahead of Sunday's trip to Liverpool, Hürzeler expressed his appreciation for his current position.
"I am really privileged to be in this situation here," he said.
"I still have this feeling when I go to bed that we are not finished with our journey."
Brighton have scored 23 goals in seven league matches and kept four clean sheets, with Hürzeler believing further improvement is possible.
The German also emphasised the importance of his relationships with players and staff.
"You need connections and you don't take these things for granted," he explained.
Manchester United speculation addressed
Hürzeler has been linked with replacing Michael Carrick, who is under increasing pressure following Manchester United's difficult start to the season.
However, the Brighton manager insists he is focused on his current responsibilities.
"I have no time to think about these rumours because we play every three days," he said.
Hürzeler also expressed respect for Carrick, with whom he maintains a positive relationship.
Brighton are reportedly relaxed about their manager's future. His contract runs until June 2029, and no formal approach from United has been confirmed.
