Everton transfer Fred Fenerbahce 2025 rumours are intensifying as the Toffees make contact over a possible deal for the former Manchester United midfielder.

The 32-year-old Brazilian is reportedly on Everton’s radar as they prepare for life without Abdoulaye Doucouré, whose contract is set to expire. Turkish sources suggest Fred has been made available by Fenerbahce for a fee of around €15 million (£12.8m) — but Everton are holding firm in negotiations.

Mourinho Ready to Offload Fred for Bissouma

With new boss José Mourinho keen to reshape his Fenerbahce midfield, Fred could be sacrificed to bring in Yves Bissouma from Tottenham. That move would pave the way for Fred’s return to the Premier League just a year after he left Manchester United.

“We’ve opened discussions, but we’ll only move if the terms are right,” said a source close to Everton’s recruitment team. — Transfer Source

Fred still has two years left on his Fenerbahce contract but is believed to be open to a return to England.

What Fred Offers Everton in Midfield

A mainstay at Old Trafford for half a decade, Fred brings energy, ball progression and experience at the top level — qualities Moyes’s midfield could benefit from.

Last season under Ismail Kartal, he featured heavily:

Fred – 2024/25 Super Lig Stats Value
Appearances 31
Goals 5
Assists 4
Minutes Played 2,574
Goal-Creating Actions 3

Despite his age, Fred continues to influence games — and at £113,000-a-week, Everton would need to assess wage structure implications before green-lighting a deal.

  • Everton make contact with Fred’s camp
  • Fenerbahce demand £12.8m amid Bissouma interest
  • Mourinho reshaping midfield this summer
  • Fred made 213 appearances for Man United
  • Kenny Tete expected to join Everton on free

What’s Next?

Everton are prioritising midfield reinforcements and full-back upgrades this window. Talks for Kenny Tete are reportedly advanced, while the Fred deal remains in the balance pending further negotiations over price and wages.
