Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Nottingham Forest have all made enquiries about Crystal Palace defender Daniel Muñoz, with the Eagles reportedly willing to sell the Colombian for around €29million (£25m).
Muñoz has been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park for some time, but there had previously been little indication that Palace were prepared to sanction his departure.
That situation has now changed.
According to Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, Palace are open to selling the 30-year-old before the transfer window closes and have set their asking price.
Crystal Palace set Daniel Muñoz asking price
Palace are reportedly looking for around €29m (£25m) to allow Muñoz to leave this summer.
That represents a significant development for clubs interested in the right-back, with Tottenham, Everton and Nottingham Forest all said to have asked about the conditions required to complete a deal.
There have been previous links with Barcelona, Chelsea and Saudi Arabian clubs, but none of those possibilities developed into a transfer.
The situation is now clearer, with Palace seemingly prepared to negotiate if their valuation is met.
Tottenham looking for right-back reinforcement
Tottenham's interest comes as Roberto De Zerbi looks for greater depth at right-back.
Djed Spence has left the club, meaning Pedro Porro is currently Spurs' only senior natural option in the position.
Muñoz would provide immediate Premier League experience and genuine competition for Porro.
His ability to contribute further forward could also make him an interesting option for De Zerbi, although there is currently no indication Tottenham have progressed beyond an enquiry.
Everton and Nottingham Forest also interested
Everton have also asked about the conditions of a potential deal.
David Moyes has Jake O'Brien and Nathan Patterson available on the right, but Muñoz would add another experienced Premier League option as Everton continue trying to strengthen their squad before the deadline.
Nottingham Forest are also monitoring the situation despite already having Ola Aina and Nicolò Savona among their options.
Like Tottenham and Everton, Forest have only made an enquiry at this stage.
There have been no reported bids or advanced negotiations involving any of the three clubs.
Key Points
- Palace are open to selling Muñoz.
- The asking price is around £25m.
- Tottenham have made an enquiry.
- Everton and Forest are also interested.
- No official bids have been reported.
What’s next?
The next step is for Tottenham, Everton or Nottingham Forest to decide whether they are prepared to meet Crystal Palace's valuation.
All three clubs have established the conditions of a possible transfer, but none are reported to have submitted an offer yet.
With Palace now willing to consider a sale, Muñoz's situation could develop quickly if one of his Premier League suitors turns its initial enquiry into a formal bid before the September 1 deadline.
