Leeds United manager Daniel Farke believes his side deserved more than a point from Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United, admitting that poor finishing prevented them from securing victory at Elland Road.
Bryan Mbeumo put Michael Carrick's visitors ahead in the first half before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised shortly after the restart.
Despite failing to claim all three points, Farke insisted Leeds were the better side and described their disappointment as evidence of the club's progress.
Farke believes Leeds deserved to beat Manchester United
Manchester United took the lead in the 35th minute when Mbeumo converted Youri Tielemans' cross.
Leeds responded six minutes into the second half as Calvert-Lewin finished from close range following Tarik Muharemovic's knockdown from an Anton Stach corner.
Farke felt his players controlled much of the contest and should not have been trailing at half-time.
"I think we were the better side today, the dominant side," he said.
"It was not necessary to be in a losing position at a half time, because even the first half we were very dominant."
The Leeds boss also highlighted how expectations have changed at Elland Road.
"It says a lot about what we've done over with the last years that we're right now, even slightly a bit disappointed with a point, just a point against Man United."
Leeds boss identifies one major problem
Although pleased with his team's overall performance, Farke acknowledged that their decision-making and execution in the final third were not good enough.
Leeds pushed for a winner after Calvert-Lewin's equaliser but failed to convert their attacking momentum into another goal.
"The problem was there were too many strikes over the crossbare and too many crosses were then even a bit too long," Farke explained.
He felt those missed opportunities allowed Manchester United to remain in the contest despite Leeds' territorial advantage.
"With a bit more quality in our final third I think we could have even won it but that's more less the only thing I can criticise."
Farke nevertheless praised his players for limiting Manchester United's attacking threat during the second half.
