Inter Milan are growing increasingly confident of signing Curtis Jones, with Liverpool's financial demands beginning to soften as the transfer deadline approaches.

The Italian champions have been working patiently on a deal for the midfielder and believe an agreement worth between €30m and €35m including bonuses could eventually be enough to bring him to San Siro.

Liverpool demands begin to drop

Liverpool's initial valuation had remained close to €40m, making a deal difficult for Inter earlier in the transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, however, there is now optimism that negotiations could eventually settle at €30m-€35m including add-ons.

Liverpool have also repeatedly requested a percentage of any future sale, with the size of that clause another detail that still needs to be negotiated.

Further contacts between the clubs are already planned as they attempt to find a compromise.

Jones already agrees Inter terms

Inter have made significant progress away from their discussions with Liverpool.

The report claims Jones already has an agreement with Inter over his salary and agent commissions, meaning personal terms should not prevent the transfer from being completed.

The remaining obstacle is therefore an agreement between the two clubs.

Inter's financial position has also improved following the expected departure of Davide Frattesi to Lazio, giving them greater room to increase their proposal for Jones.

Luis Henrique sale could unlock transfer

Another important factor is the future of Luis Henrique.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are hoping to generate further funds by selling the Brazilian, with Roma interested in completing a deal.

Should Luis Henrique move to the Italian capital, Inter would have additional money available to strengthen their offer for Jones, significantly improving their chances of reaching Liverpool's valuation.

The Nerazzurri are prepared to remain patient and could wait until closer to the September 1 deadline before making their decisive move.

Jones would become Inter's third English addition of the summer after John Stones and Djed Spence if an agreement is eventually reached.

Key Points

  • Inter believe Curtis Jones could be signed for €30m-€35m including bonuses.
  • Liverpool's original asking price was around €40m.
  • Jones has already agreed salary and commission terms with Inter.
  • Liverpool also want a percentage of any future resale.
  • A potential Luis Henrique sale to Roma could help finance the deal.

What's Next?

Inter and Liverpool are expected to hold further talks as they attempt to close the remaining gap in valuation. The Italian champions could also accelerate negotiations if Luis Henrique completes a move to Roma, giving them additional funds to improve their offer. With Jones already in agreement over personal terms, the focus is now firmly on the two clubs finding a financial compromise.

Should Liverpool accept €30m-€35m for Curtis Jones, or hold firm on their valuation?
