Crystal Palace agree deal to sign Óscar Mingueza on free transfer

Crystal Palace have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Spanish defender Óscar Mingueza on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old is available after leaving Celta Vigo at the end of last season and had attracted interest from several clubs following speculation over a move to the Premier League.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Palace have now reached a verbal agreement with Mingueza following talks over the past 48 hours. All terms are said to have been agreed, with the deal considered done.

Mingueza had reportedly emerged as a secret top target for Palace as new manager Pierre Sage looked to strengthen his defence.

The former Barcelona player can operate at right-back or centre-back, giving Sage greater flexibility as he prepares for his first season at Selhurst Park.
