Luis Enrique responds to Bradley Barcola Arsenal and Liverpool transfer links

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has declined to comment on growing speculation surrounding Bradley Barcola, as the French winger continues to be linked with a potential move to the Premier League.

Barcola has emerged as a reported target for both Arsenal and Liverpool during the summer transfer window, with Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola understood to be particularly interested in strengthening his attacking options.

Speaking ahead of PSG's UEFA Super Cup clash with Aston Villa on Wednesday, Enrique refused to be drawn into discussing the future of any individual player.

When asked directly about Barcola's future, the PSG head coach made it clear he would not fuel transfer speculation.

"I don't know and I don't want to speak about any player individually. Because it's always dangerous when you are asking something positive or negative about a player. I stay focused on my team."

The 23-year-old recently returned to training after representing France at the FIFA World Cup, where he scored three goals as Les Bleus finished fourth.

Despite ongoing reports linking him with England, Enrique's comments offered no indication that PSG are preparing to part ways with one of their most exciting attacking players.

Enrique also admitted he remains unsure about the physical condition of his squad ahead of their first competitive fixture of the new season.

Several PSG players have only recently returned from international duty, leaving the Spanish coach with limited preparation time.

"In the pre-season matches, we had a lot of absences. It's hard to predict who will play. For every team, it's important to win a European trophy, and we'll see what kind of match both teams can deliver this Wednesday. Some returned this Monday, others came back last week. We are trying to prepare in the best way possible. I don't know what kind of physical condition my players will be in."

The delayed returns mean Enrique is expected to make late decisions regarding his starting XI for the meeting with Aston Villa.

Interest in Barcola has continued throughout the transfer window after another impressive campaign with PSG.

Neither Arsenal nor Liverpool have made a public move for the winger, while PSG have also given no indication they are willing to negotiate his departure.

Enrique's refusal to discuss the speculation is unlikely to quieten rumours, but it does reinforce the club's current focus on preparations for the UEFA Super Cup rather than transfer business.

PSG's immediate focus is Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup meeting with Aston Villa, where Enrique must assess the fitness of several returning internationals. Once that fixture is complete, attention is likely to shift back towards the closing weeks of the transfer window. Arsenal and Liverpool are expected to continue monitoring Barcola's situation, although there is still no confirmation of formal negotiations or a willingness from PSG to sell.
