Everton striker Beto emerges as Fiorentina option if Moise Kean leaves

Everton striker Beto has emerged as a potential late-window target for Fiorentina, but any move currently depends on Moise Kean leaving the Serie A club.

Fiorentina are preparing for the possibility of losing Kean to Como before the transfer deadline and have started identifying possible replacements.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Beto is one of the names being considered.

Como are interested in signing former Everton striker Kean, although they have yet to submit an improved offer.

However, the player's representatives are working to find common ground between Como and Fiorentina, raising the possibility of movement before the window closes.

Fiorentina do not want to be caught unprepared.

Should Kean leave, they are expected to move quickly for another striker, and Beto has now been placed on their shortlist.

The 28-year-old is already well known in Italy following his time with Udinese before joining Everton.

Fiorentina sporting director Fabio Paratici will also be familiar with Beto after his own spell working in English football with Tottenham.

There is currently no indication of how much Fiorentina would be prepared to offer.

Everton paid around €25m to sign Beto three years ago, while his current market valuation is around €18m.

His contractual situation could also become important.

Beto's current deal is due to expire next summer, although Everton may have the option to extend it for another season. That could leave the Toffees with a decision to make if Fiorentina submit a serious proposal.

However, selling him would create another issue for Everton.

Thierno Barry appears to have moved ahead of Beto in the attacking hierarchy after an impressive pre-season, but the Portuguese striker remains an important alternative.

Everton would therefore likely want another forward lined up before allowing him to leave.

Chelsea striker Liam Delap has previously been mentioned as one possible replacement, although there is no suggestion that a deal is currently close.

For now, Fiorentina's interest remains conditional.

If Kean stays in Florence, there may be no need for them to pursue Beto. If Como manage to complete the Italian's signing, however, the Everton striker could quickly become a serious option during the final days of the window.

The situation is likely to be dictated by Kean. If Como make their move and Fiorentina agree to sell, Beto could become part of a late transfer scramble, leaving Everton with little time to decide whether to cash in or keep their attacking depth.
