Aston Villa are seriously weighing up a summer move for Fikayo Tomori, with AC Milan ready to cash in on the former Chelsea defender for around £30 million.

The centre-back, who earned five caps for England and played a key role in Milan’s 2022 Serie A title, is expected to have several options as he considers a return to the Premier League — and Unai Emery’s Villa could be one of the frontrunners.

The 26-year-old has enjoyed a successful four-year stint in Italy, making 177 appearances since leaving Stamford Bridge. But with Milan preparing for a squad refresh, Tomori could be allowed to depart — and Villa’s defensive needs make them a logical destination.

AC Milan Open Door for Tomori Exit

“Tomori is open to returning to the Premier League, and Milan will sell for the right offer,” reported *Gazzetta dello Sport*.

Reports in Italy suggest Milan have slapped a £30m price tag on Tomori — a fee that might tempt Villa as they look to reinforce the back line after the sale of Diego Carlos and the release of Kortney Hause.

Villa's Defence Needs Reinforcement

Villa head into 2025/26 with Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, and a returning Tyrone Mings as their main senior centre-backs. With Axel Disasi returning to Chelsea after his loan and youngster Yasin Ozcan signed, Tomori could bring proven quality and European experience to Emery’s squad.

Competition for His Signature

Spurs, Newcastle, and West Ham have all been linked with Tomori — and Tottenham could rekindle their January interest. AC Milan are also reportedly considering a swap deal with Juventus, which could involve Dusan Vlahovic, depending on the Turin side’s movements.

Meanwhile, Milan have other Premier League names in mind, including Kieran Trippier and a possible extension for Tammy Abraham.

What’s Next?

Villa’s next pre-season tour begins July 15, and Emery wants defensive additions in place early. If Tomori is to be a priority, Villa may need to act before rivals enter formal talks with Milan.

Will Tomori make a Premier League return in claret and blue?
