Arsenal are reportedly exploring a move for Hugo Ekitike if they fail to land either Benjamin Sesko or Viktor Gyökeres this summer. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker is now on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, according to Bild. In fact, some reports suggest Hugo Ekitike could head to Arsenal.

Ekitike scored 22 goals in 48 appearances last season and could demand a fee in excess of £50 million. With Arsenal stalling in talks for Sesko and struggling to reach Sporting’s asking price for Gyökeres, a pivot to the 23-year-old Frenchman is now under serious consideration. If Hugo Ekitike is brought to Arsenal, it will likely be a strategic decision.

What Makes Ekitike an Arsenal Fit?

Ekitike offers a blend of pace, movement and natural finishing ability — traits that Mikel Arteta values in a central striker. His ability to stretch defenses and run behind the last man makes him a more stylistic fit than Gyökeres, while his link-up play has improved since leaving PSG, which strengthens the case for Ekitike's potential move to Arsenal.

The 6ft 2in forward showed more maturity in his first full Bundesliga campaign, and Frankfurt's direct system helped him flourish. With Arsenal looking for a striker who can hit 20+ goals but also press and rotate, Ekitike ticks several boxes. Hugo Ekitike could thus provide Arsenal with the tactical dynamism they seek.

Gunners Still Hopeful on Sesko and Zubimendi

While Ekitike is an emerging option, Arsenal are still pushing for their main striker target Benjamin Sesko, who has a release clause north of £55m. However, Leipzig are reluctant to sell, and the player may stay one more year. But if Hugo Ekitike ends up at Arsenal, these pursuits could shift accordingly.

Premier League Clubs Battle for Ekitike

Arsenal are far from alone in their pursuit of Ekitike. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been tracking the striker as they consider long-term forward reinforcements. Manchester United have also been scouting Ekitike as a potential partner for Rasmus Højlund.

Frankfurt are expected to demand £50–60 million for the striker, with incentives and add-ons based on European qualification and goal tally.

Benjamin Sesko 19 £55m+ 36.1 km/h

Analyst Verdict

Ekitike isn’t just a backup plan — he’s a legitimate option. With Champions League football secured and funds available, Arsenal could outmaneuver rivals if they act fast. If the Sesko or Gyökeres deals collapse, don’t be surprised if Frankfurt’s No. 9 lands at the Emirates, as the speculation around Hugo Ekitike to Arsenal continues.

I would still go for Sesko, younger I think the same potential as Gyokeres and plays in a better competition.
