Newcastle United pushing to sign Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa

Newcastle United are pushing to complete the signing of Anis Hadj Moussa, with reports suggesting the Feyenoord winger could be unveiled within the next few days.

The move has gathered pace following the expected appointment of Matthias Jaissle, who is understood to have made the Algerian international one of his priority transfer targets.

According to La Gazette du Fennec, Jaissle has been a long-time admirer of Hadj Moussa.

The German coach previously attempted to sign the 24-year-old during his spell at Al Ahli, but the winger was reluctant to move to Saudi Arabia at that stage of his career.

Now, with Jaissle taking charge at Newcastle, he has reportedly informed the club's hierarchy that he wants Hadj Moussa to join him at St James' Park.

The Magpies are looking to strengthen their attack after the departure of Anthony Gordon, who completed a high-profile move to Barcelona earlier this summer.

Combined with the sale of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle have generated significant funds and are expected to remain active in the transfer market.

Hadj Moussa has emerged as one of the club's preferred options to add pace and creativity to the forward line.

Despite Newcastle's interest, Feyenoord are under no pressure to sell.

The winger remains under contract in Rotterdam for another four years, with the Dutch club reportedly valuing him at around €40 million.

Reports in the Netherlands suggest Feyenoord would ideally like to generate transfer income before making further additions to their own squad, but they remain determined to receive their full asking price for one of their key attacking players.

Negotiations are expected to continue over the coming days, with reports suggesting Newcastle are confident of completing a deal soon. If the clubs can agree a transfer fee, Hadj Moussa could become one of the first signings of the Jaissle era at St James' Park.
