Arsenal agree £80m deal for Newcastle captain Bruno Guimarães

Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United in a deal worth up to £80 million, according to reports from Brazil.

The Premier League champions are said to have finalised negotiations late on Friday, bringing an end to one of the summer's biggest transfer sagas.

The Gunners will reportedly pay an initial £70 million, with a further £10 million in performance-related bonuses.

Bruno is now expected to travel to London to complete the formalities and sign a long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium this weekend.

The Brazilian midfielder has been one of Arsenal's priority targets throughout the transfer window, with negotiations intensifying over recent days before an agreement was finally reached.

A key factor in completing the transfer was Bruno's desire to join Arsenal.
