Newcastle United target Andrei Rațiu after Kieran Trippier exit

Newcastle United have identified Rayo Vallecano defender Andrei Rațiu as a potential replacement for Kieran Trippier as Eddie Howe continues his search for a new right-back this summer.

According to Marca journalist Matteo Moretto, the Magpies are monitoring the Romania international after an impressive campaign in La Liga, although they could face competition from fellow Premier League side Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle have been assessing options at right-back following Trippier's departure at the end of last season.

The experienced England international was a key figure during his time at St James' Park, with his leadership and versatility leaving a significant gap in Howe's squad.
