Alpha Touré remains intent on joining West Ham United despite FC Metz reportedly receiving an offer from Saudi Arabia, with the midfielder said to have already given his word to the Hammers.
According to Africa Foot, newly promoted Saudi Pro League side Al-Diraiyah have reached an agreement with Metz worth around €7 million. However, Touré is not currently interested in moving to the Middle East and is prioritising a switch to England.
The 20-year-old has been on West Ham’s radar since the winter window, and his admiration for English football has been clear for months. The Hammers failed to complete a deal earlier in the year, but their interest has not gone away.

Touré’s stance could prove significant. Metz, now in Ligue 2, are in a position where a sale would make financial sense, particularly with the player entering the final two years of his contract.
West Ham are reportedly willing to offer around £6 million, close to the fee Al-Diraiyah have put forward. The difference, for now, appears to be the player’s preference.
A source close to Touré is quoted as saying that Al-Diraiyah have an agreement with Metz, but the midfielder does not want the move and is not interested in Saudi Arabia at this stage of his career.
For West Ham, that gives Nuno Espírito Santo’s side a strong hand — but not yet a completed transfer.

West Ham’s midfield situation has changed sharply after Mateus Fernandes joined Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £85 million. That sale has left the Hammers with money to reinvest and a need to refresh the centre of the pitch.
Touré played 32 matches for Metz last season and is valued by Transfermarkt at around €5 million. At 20, he would represent a development signing rather than an immediate guarantee, but his profile fits a club looking to build a younger, more athletic midfield group.

West Ham must now decide whether to formalise their interest and move closer to Metz’s asking price. Touré’s rejection of Saudi interest strengthens their position, but it does not remove competition entirely.
If another club from one of Europe’s top five leagues enters the race, the midfielder’s stance could be tested. For now, though, the clearest message is that Touré wants England — and West Ham believe they are in position to land him.
