Fulham came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Craven Cottage, with Alex Iwobi assisting substitute Emile Smith Rowe for the equaliser.
Rodrigo Muniz’s own goal had given United the lead, but Smith Rowe struck on his Fulham debut to secure a second straight point for Marco Silva’s side. The result leaves both teams without a win after two Premier League games.
Alex Iwobi: “A Good Point Against a Good Team”
Iwobi played the full 90 minutes and capped a strong performance with the assist for Smith Rowe’s strike. The midfielder emphasised Fulham’s resilience and tactical execution after the match:
“The resilience to come back. We knew that the difference could be made off the bench. It is better to not lose, and we are able to get a good point against a good team.” — Alex Iwobi, Sky Sports
He explained the move that led to the equaliser:
“I was aiming for Raul [Jiménez], but he [Smith Rowe] made the run in-behind, and I trusted him to get on to the end of the ball. We knew that we would be able to get behind their two midfielders and that their centre-backs would want to jump — we exploited that today.”
Smith Rowe: “We All Want to Score Goals”
Emile Smith Rowe made an immediate impact from the bench, showing sharp instincts to latch onto Iwobi’s cross and finish past André Onana.
“It was really quick, I know when Alex [Iwobi] gets the ball, I know his trademark cross and I have to be there to finish. We are very competitive in training, we all want to score goals and contribute to the team.” — Emile Smith Rowe, Sky Sports
The 25-year-old underlined his determination to stay fit and secure consistent minutes:
“Just to stay fit, get consistent minutes on the pitch, give my all for the team and hopefully we can start winning games.”

I think the game changed when both Smith and Robinson came on. Not sure why Robinson didn’t start in the first place maybe due his fitness?
