Arsenal have switched their focus to RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande after missing out on Morgan Rogers, who completed a British record £117 million move from Aston Villa to Chelsea.

The Gunners are now exploring alternative attacking options, with Diomande emerging as one of the club's leading targets despite fierce competition from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal make initial approach

According to reports, Arsenal have already made enquiries with Diomande's representatives to assess whether a deal remains possible this summer.

Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his attacking options following the disappointment of missing out on Rogers, who had been identified as Arsenal's priority target before Chelsea's late intervention.

However, signing Diomande will be far from straightforward.

RB Leipzig are reportedly demanding around €120 million (£102 million) for the 19-year-old, reflecting his status as one of Europe's brightest young talents.

Liverpool and PSG also in the race

Arsenal are not alone in pursuing the Ivory Coast international.

Liverpool have tracked Diomande for several months as they continue planning for the future of their attacking department, while Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be the most advanced club in the race.

Reports suggest PSG have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the winger and remain in negotiations with Leipzig over a transfer fee.

Despite that, Arsenal have not given up hope and are continuing to gather information before deciding whether to launch a formal bid.

What's next?

Arsenal are expected to decide in the coming days whether to pursue Diomande more aggressively or explore alternative targets.

With PSG currently appearing to lead the race and Liverpool still monitoring developments, the Gunners face a difficult battle if they hope to secure one of Europe's most exciting young forwards before the transfer window closes.

Should Arsenal spend over £100 million on Yan Diomande after missing out on Morgan Rogers?
