Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore has received the backing of FC Köln manager René Wagner despite a difficult start to his Bundesliga loan spell.
The 19-year-old joined the German club in August after an impressive season at Rangers, but has yet to establish himself as a consistent attacking threat.
Wagner remains confident that Moore's ability will become more apparent as he adapts to German football.
René Wagner confident Moore will improve
According to German outlet Geissblog, Wagner believes Moore and fellow young arrival Reigan Heskey need time to settle into a different league.
The Köln manager has emphasised the importance of confidence and patience, particularly when young attackers are adjusting to the physical and tactical demands of Bundesliga football.
Wagner believes Moore possesses the dribbling ability to trouble defenders but must become more comfortable expressing himself.
The coach has previously pointed to Moore's experience at Rangers, where he also needed time before establishing himself.
Moore looking to build on Rangers success
Moore joined Köln on a season-long loan after making 47 appearances for Rangers during the 2025–26 campaign.
He scored seven goals and provided four assists in Scotland, earning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.
His early Bundesliga numbers have been less impressive, with Opta recording 315 minutes across five league appearances without a goal or assist.
However, Moore has demonstrated his attacking qualities internationally, scoring against Italy and France during England Under-20 duty earlier this month.
The teenager is capable of playing in several attacking positions, giving Wagner different options as he continues his development.
No purchase option in Tottenham loan
Köln's agreement with Tottenham does not include an option to buy Moore permanently.
He is therefore scheduled to return to Spurs when his loan ends in summer 2027.
