Tottenham have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Juventus over the departure of Pape Matar Sarr, with the midfielder now close to completing a late move to Serie A.
According to Sky Italia, Juventus have agreed a loan deal with Spurs containing a conditional obligation to buy the Senegal international.
The proposed agreement would see Juventus pay an initial €3million loan fee, with a further €30m becoming due if specific conditions are met.
Juventus move ahead in race for Sarr
Sarr has attracted significant interest during the closing stages of the transfer window.
Galatasaray and AS Monaco had both previously agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old, while Nottingham Forest entered negotiations with Tottenham over a loan containing an option to buy.
Beşiktaş also emerged as a possible destination before Juventus entered the race.
The Italian giants have now moved ahead of Sarr's other suitors after missing out on Franck Kessié, who rejected the opportunity to join them.
Sky Italia reports that Juventus subsequently decided to make Sarr a priority and have now secured a verbal agreement with Tottenham.
Tottenham could receive €33m for Sarr
The structure under discussion would initially take Sarr to Turin on loan for €3m.
Juventus would then have a conditional €30m purchase obligation, potentially taking the overall value of the transfer to €33m.
The exact conditions still need to be finalised before the operation can be completed.
Sky Italia indicates that European qualification and Sarr reaching a certain number of appearances could be involved in triggering the permanent transfer.
However, the report does not specifically state that Juventus must qualify for the Champions League or provide an exact number of appearances required.
Those details represent the final significant element still being negotiated between the clubs.
Sarr asked to leave Tottenham
Sarr's potential departure follows Tottenham's 2-0 Premier League defeat against Newcastle United on Saturday.
After the game, Roberto De Zerbi confirmed that Sarr had asked to leave Spurs before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.
The midfielder's approval does not appear to be an obstacle to the Juventus deal, with the latest report indicating he has given the move the green light and agreed personal terms.
That leaves the two clubs working to finalise the obligation-to-buy conditions before Sarr can complete his switch to Turin.
With several clubs having pursued him, Juventus now appear firmly positioned to win the race.
