Crystal Palace and Hull City are showing strong interest in Trabzonspor midfielder Tim Jabol-Folcarelli, but Saudi club Al-Taawoun have already made an offer.
The 26-year-old could be available for between €7 million and €8 million this summer, with his representatives working on a possible exit from Turkey. According to Foot Mercato, the strongest European approaches are currently coming from England.
Crystal Palace and Hull target Tim Jabol-Folcarelli
Jabol-Folcarelli joined Trabzonspor from AC Ajaccio in February 2025 after spending the earlier stages of his career in France.
His first months in Turkey were affected by fitness and form concerns, but the midfielder established himself as a regular last season and made 32 appearances.
He has now returned to Trabzonspor for pre-season while his representatives explore possible transfer opportunities.
Crystal Palace and Hull are both keen. Hull owner Acun Ilıcalı is said to appreciate the midfielder’s profile, while Palace have identified him as another option after previously showing interest in Celtic midfielder Arne Engels.
Neither English club has yet made a concrete move.
Trabzonspor set €7-8m transfer price
Trabzonspor do not want to lose Jabol-Folcarelli easily, but have reportedly placed a valuation of between €7 million and €8 million on him.
His salary could prove a greater obstacle for some interested clubs.
Teams in France, Spain and MLS have struggled to match his current wages, despite Nice making a concrete approach. That has helped leave Crystal Palace and Hull in a stronger position, as both English clubs may be better equipped to meet his financial demands.
The midfielder is under contract until 2029, giving Trabzonspor a degree of control over negotiations.
Al-Taawoun make first offer as English clubs wait
The biggest immediate threat to Palace and Hull comes from Saudi Arabia.
Al-Taawoun have already approached Trabzonspor with a loan offer containing an option to buy. Unlike the Saudi club, Palace and Hull have not yet progressed beyond interest.
That means the English sides may need to act quickly.
Jabol-Folcarelli’s representatives are working on an exit, but the player would also need to be convinced that remaining in European football is the right option. The financial strength of the Saudi offer could become important if neither Palace nor Hull formalise their interest.
For Palace, the reported €7-8 million price would represent a relatively modest investment for a player entering his peak years. Hull also appear capable of financing a deal, although competition from a Premier League club would create a different challenge.
However, there are no negotiations with either English side at this stage.
Key Points
- Crystal Palace and Hull City are strongly interested in Tim Jabol-Folcarelli.
- Trabzonspor reportedly value the midfielder at €7-8 million.
- Al-Taawoun have already made a loan offer with an option to buy.
- The player’s salary has complicated interest from clubs in France, Spain and MLS.
- Palace and Hull must convince the 26-year-old to continue his career in Europe.
What’s next?
Crystal Palace and Hull must decide whether to turn their interest into formal approaches before Al-Taawoun make further progress.
Trabzonspor have established a clear price, while Jabol-Folcarelli’s representatives are already working on a possible departure. If either English club moves quickly and meets the player’s salary expectations, the midfielder could have the opportunity to remain in Europe rather than accept a move to Saudi Arabia.
Who would be the better destination for Tim Jabol-Folcarelli: Crystal Palace or Hull City?
