Richarlison’s Tottenham exit could finally be gathering momentum, with teammate Savinho appearing to reveal exactly where the Brazilian wants to play next.

Vasco da Gama have now opened talks over a potential deal for the 29-year-old, while Atlético Mineiro have also entered the race ahead of Friday’s Brazilian transfer deadline.

However, Savinho has suggested Richarlison has already made his preferred destination clear.

Savinho reveals Richarlison’s Vasco preference

Atlético supporters had launched a social media campaign encouraging Richarlison to join the club, prompting Savinho to get involved.

The Tottenham winger came through Atlético’s academy and remains a supporter of the Brazilian side, but his response provided an unexpected update on his teammate.

“He told me he wants to go to Vasco, man…” Savinho wrote.

He then joked that he had attempted to convince Richarlison otherwise: “I told him to go to Atlético… He’ll be happier!”

It is a significant development given the conflicting reports surrounding Richarlison’s future.

Earlier indications suggested the striker was prepared to remain at Tottenham until January rather than rush into a return to Brazil. That position now appears to have changed.

Vasco open talks for Tottenham striker

Globo Esporte report that Vasco’s interest is genuine and contacts have started over a potential transfer.

Richarlison is reportedly reconsidering his options because he does not want to spend the coming months without first-team football.

That is particularly important given his situation at Tottenham. Roberto De Zerbi has left the forward out of his Premier League squad, leaving Richarlison with little prospect of playing if he remains in North London.

Brazilian reports now suggest Vasco are exploring a loan until the end of 2026.

Club insider Colina 1927 goes further, claiming Richarlison has responded positively to Vasco and that president Pedrinho is personally involved in attempts to secure the deal.

Tottenham now hold the key

Richarlison’s salary had been considered one of the biggest obstacles to a Brazilian return, but the latest claims suggest that may not prevent an agreement with Vasco.

The more significant issue is finding terms Tottenham are prepared to accept.

Spurs previously rejected offers from Trabzonspor worth up to €20million including bonuses, but their position could now be tested.

De Zerbi does not intend to use Richarlison, and keeping a highly paid player outside the squad until January offers Tottenham little sporting benefit.

A temporary departure could therefore provide a solution for everyone.

Time, however, is running out. Brazil’s transfer window closes on Friday, leaving Vasco only a matter of days to reach an agreement with Tottenham.

Key Points

  • Savinho says Richarlison told him he wants to join Vasco da Gama.
  • Vasco have opened contacts over a potential deal, while Atlético Mineiro are also interested.
  • Richarlison is now reportedly willing to consider a move rather than remain without first-team football at Tottenham.
  • Vasco are working on a loan until the end of 2026, but an agreement with Tottenham must be reached before Friday’s Brazilian deadline.

What’s Next?

Vasco president Pedrinho is reportedly involved in efforts to find an agreement with Tottenham, making the next few days decisive.

Richarlison’s apparent willingness to make the move removes one major obstacle, but Vasco still need Spurs to approve the structure of the deal before Brazil’s transfer window closes.
