Tottenham have reportedly informed Pape Matar Sarr that he is free to leave the club this summer, with Galatasaray continuing negotiations for the Senegal international.

Spurs are prepared to sell the 23-year-old before the transfer deadline but are demanding around €25million.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham have made their position clear to Sarr by informing him that he is on the transfer market.

The message has apparently not been well received.

Sarr unhappy with Tottenham decision

Tavolieri reports that Sarr reacted angrily after being told he could leave.

The midfielder subsequently deleted his Tottenham-related posts from social media, adding further uncertainty around his future in north London.

The development comes at a time when Galatasaray are making a serious attempt to take Sarr to Türkiye.

The Turkish champions have already seen two proposals rejected.

Their opening bid was reportedly worth around €18m, while Sabah claims a second offer of approximately €20m has also been turned down.

Tottenham continue to demand €25m.

Galatasaray make Sarr top midfield target

The difference between the clubs has therefore been reduced to around €5m, and talks are continuing.

Galatasaray have also received encouragement from the player's side.

Journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reports that Sarr is very interested in joining Galatasaray and currently sits at the top of their midfield shortlist.

However, the Turkish club have an issue to resolve before increasing their offer.

Galatasaray reportedly need to complete a player departure before they can make the necessary move for Sarr.

That could determine how quickly negotiations with Tottenham progress.

Tottenham exit now increasingly possible

Sarr's situation has changed considerably following Tottenham's decision to make him available.

The midfielder is no longer simply the subject of outside interest. Spurs themselves are now reportedly prepared for his departure, while the player appears open to the destination pushing hardest to sign him.

Galatasaray still need to satisfy Tottenham financially, but the clubs are moving closer.

With Sarr unhappy about being placed on the market and Spurs willing to negotiate, the conditions for a late transfer are increasingly falling into place.

What's Next?

Should Tottenham accept €25m for Pape Matar Sarr or keep him as part of Roberto De Zerbi's squad?
