Tottenham Hotspur winger Manor Solomon has revealed he was left "offended" after the club blocked his proposed move to Crystal Palace during last summer's transfer window.

The Israel international has opened up on the failed transfer, explaining he believed he was on the verge of joining the Eagles before negotiations collapsed at the final stage.

Speaking in a lengthy interview with Israel's Sport5, Solomon detailed how events unfolded and admitted the situation left him deeply frustrated.

Crystal Palace move looked certain

Crystal Palace identified Solomon as a transfer target after the winger struggled to establish himself at Tottenham following his arrival in 2023.

The 26-year-old was eager to make the switch to Selhurst Park and believed the move was progressing positively.

However, while then-head coach Thomas Frank initially indicated he wanted Solomon to remain in north London, Tottenham's plans changed as they looked to create room in the squad for the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani.

Recalling the sequence of events, Solomon explained:

"At the end of the transfer window, when I returned to play, the coach saw me again, and I had a conversation with him because I had an offer from Crystal Palace. He told me he wanted me to stay."

He continued:

"I landed and got a call from Pini. He was upset and said they had a chance to sign a French striker. Daniel Levy had spoken with him, and they needed to free up a spot on the roster, and that spot was probably mine."

Solomon admits frustration with Tottenham

Once it became clear he was no longer central to Tottenham's plans, Solomon instructed his agent, Pini Zahavi, to complete the Crystal Palace transfer as quickly as possible.

Instead, negotiations between the clubs broke down.

"I told him, 'Come on, close the deal with Palace. I don't want to be in a place like this.'"

The winger then revealed how disappointed he felt after the transfer collapsed.

"There were negotiations between the clubs, and apparently there was some bad blood, so the deal fell through at the last minute. The transfer window is over, and I didn't want to stay at Tottenham. I was offended by them."

Following the failed move, Tottenham instead sent Solomon on loan to Villarreal before recalling him midway through the season and allowing him to join Fiorentina for the remainder of the campaign.

Fresh decision approaching this summer

Solomon's long-term future remains unresolved.

After two loan spells during the 2025/26 season, the winger is expected to return to Tottenham this summer, although uncertainty continues over whether he has a role to play under the club's current plans.

His representative has previously expressed hope that Solomon could remain at Spurs, but interest from elsewhere is likely if the Premier League club decide another departure is the best solution.

Given the player's own comments, a permanent exit may ultimately suit all parties.

Key Points

  • Manor Solomon has revealed he wanted to join Crystal Palace last summer.
  • Tottenham blocked the proposed transfer before the deadline.
  • The winger says he was left "offended" by how events unfolded.
  • Solomon later spent the season on loan at Villarreal and Fiorentina.
  • His long-term Tottenham future remains uncertain.

What's Next?

Solomon is due to return to Tottenham ahead of pre-season, where a decision will be made over his future. Whether Spurs integrate him into their first-team plans or seek another transfer remains to be seen.

After publicly admitting his frustration over last summer's collapsed move, another attempt to secure a permanent exit could become one of the stories to watch during the remainder of the transfer window.

Should Tottenham finally allow Manor Solomon to leave permanently this summer, or does the winger deserve another opportunity to prove himself in north London?
