Leeds United are reportedly considering a €20million move for Sevilla winger Miguel Sierra, although the 22-year-old's serious shoulder injury could complicate a potential January transfer.

The Spaniard has attracted attention following an impressive start to the 2026/27 season, scoring twice in La Liga before suffering an injury against Levante earlier this month.

According to Spanish outlet Orgullo Biri, Leeds have been closely monitoring Sierra and are seriously considering whether to activate his reported €20million release clause.

Leeds United monitor Miguel Sierra's €20m release clause

Sierra joined Sevilla from Real Avilés in the summer of 2024, initially becoming part of the club's reserve side.

He made his senior debut during the 2025/26 campaign before establishing himself as a regular under manager Luis García Plaza this season.

His performances have attracted attention, with Leeds reportedly among the clubs monitoring his progress.

Orgullo Biri reported on 29 October that the Yorkshire club are considering paying the €20million release clause in Sierra's contract.

The winger signed an extension until June 2029 in April, although Spanish newspaper Diario de Sevilla reported that the agreement included the €20million clause.

Sierra's estimated market value has also increased significantly, rising from €300,000 during the summer to approximately €7million in Transfermarkt's October assessment.

Despite the reported interest, there is no confirmation that Leeds have submitted an official offer or entered formal negotiations with Sevilla.

Miguel Sierra injury could complicate January transfer

Sierra's immediate future has been complicated by a shoulder injury suffered during Sevilla's 3-3 draw against Levante on 12 October.

The winger was forced off in the second half after falling awkwardly during a challenge.

Sevilla subsequently confirmed that medical tests had revealed an acromioclavicular dislocation in his right shoulder and that surgery was required.

Spanish reports suggested Sierra could be sidelined for approximately two-and-a-half to three months, potentially keeping him out until January.

That recovery period could affect the timing of any potential transfer, although there is no indication that Leeds have decided to delay an approach.

The winger's fitness will be an important consideration for any club assessing a January deal.

Sevilla face decision over emerging winger

Sierra's development has been one of Sevilla's positive stories during the opening months of the season.

The 22-year-old established himself on the right wing and scored twice in La Liga before his injury interrupted his progress.

His contract runs until 2029, giving Sevilla long-term security over his future.

However, the reported €20million release clause could become relevant if Leeds or another interested club decide to pursue a deal.

For now, Sierra remains a Sevilla player, and neither club has confirmed negotiations over a January transfer.

His recovery will be the immediate priority before any potential move becomes a more concrete possibility.
