Arsenal have reportedly accepted a €20 million offer from Beşiktaş for Leandro Trossard, leaving the Belgium international with the final decision over his future.

The experienced forward has been linked with a move away from the Emirates for several months despite featuring regularly under Mikel Arteta towards the end of last season. Now, reports from Turkey claim Arsenal are prepared to sanction his departure if the player agrees personal terms.

With interest also arriving from Saudi Arabia, Trossard is expected to wait until Belgium's World Cup campaign concludes before deciding his next move.

Arsenal agree fee with Beşiktaş

According to Sporx, Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı and sporting director Önder Özen have stepped up their pursuit after identifying Trossard as one of their priority targets.

The Turkish giants have now matched Arsenal's reported €20 million asking price, with the Gunners allegedly accepting the proposal.

Negotiations are therefore no longer centred on the clubs.

Instead, Beşiktaş are waiting for Trossard to decide whether he wants to continue his career in Turkey.

The 31-year-old is currently with Belgium at the World Cup and is understood to have postponed any decision until after the tournament.

Saudi Arabia also pushing for Trossard

Beşiktaş are not alone in the race.

Reports last week claimed Saudi Arabian side Al-Diraiyah are also willing to pay Arsenal's €20 million valuation while offering Trossard a considerably higher salary.

The Saudi proposal is believed to be worth around €10 million net per season, compared to the approximately €7 million annually Beşiktaş are reportedly prepared to offer.

That financial gap could become an important factor once Trossard begins evaluating his options.

Allowing Trossard to leave would fit the club's ongoing strategy of refreshing the attacking department. While the Belgian remained an important squad player last season, Arsenal may view the reported €20 million fee as good value for a player entering the latter stages of his career. However, the move cannot progress unless Trossard himself agrees to leave.

Player holds the final decision

Although Arsenal have reportedly accepted Beşiktaş's offer, the transfer remains entirely dependent on the player's response.

The Turkish club are understood to be eager for clarity and have reportedly informed Trossard's representatives that they require an answer as soon as possible.

That urgency is partly driven by concerns another club could secure the Belgian before they finalise an agreement.

Trossard remains under contract at Arsenal until 2027, giving the Gunners no immediate pressure to complete a sale.

Key Points

  • Arsenal have reportedly accepted Beşiktaş's €20 million bid.
  • Leandro Trossard has not yet decided whether to leave.
  • The Belgian wants to focus on the World Cup before making a decision.
  • Saudi Arabian club Al-Diraiyah are also interested.
  • Arsenal are prepared to sanction a summer departure.

What's next?

Trossard is expected to revisit his club future once Belgium's World Cup campaign comes to an end. Beşiktaş remain optimistic but face competition from Saudi Arabia, meaning the Belgian winger's personal preference is now likely to determine where he plays next season.

Should Arsenal cash in on Leandro Trossard this summer, or does he still have an important role under Mikel Arteta?
