Manchester United have reportedly made Joshua Zirkzee available for transfer after offering the Dutch striker to both Juventus and Como during the summer window.
The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford since arriving from Bologna in 2024, and his future now appears increasingly likely to lie away from Manchester.
United ready to cash in
According to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira, Manchester United have informed both Juventus and Como that Zirkzee is available.
The Netherlands international joined United from Bologna two years ago in a deal worth just over €40 million, but he has failed to make the expected impact.
Across 75 appearances, Zirkzee has scored nine goals and provided four assists, while also missing out on winning silverware during his time at the club.
Sesko and Cunha move ahead
Manchester United's attacking plans have changed significantly this summer.
The arrivals of Benjamin Šeško and Matheus Cunha have pushed Zirkzee further down the pecking order, making a departure increasingly likely before the transfer window closes.
With two new forwards expected to lead the attack, United are now open to finding the Dutchman a new club.
Serie A return on the cards
A return to Italian football could be the most realistic outcome.
Juventus and Como have both been offered the opportunity to sign Zirkzee, according to the report.
Como would reportedly offer the striker the chance to compete in the Champions League, while Juventus could provide Europa League football next season.
Having previously impressed in Serie A with Bologna, a move back to Italy could help Zirkzee rediscover the form that earned him his move to the Premier League.
Encouraging pre-season display
Despite uncertainty surrounding his future, Zirkzee showed flashes of his quality during Manchester United's recent pre-season victory over BK Rosenborg.
The striker produced one of the standout moments of the match by dribbling past two defenders and the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into an empty net.
However, the impressive cameo is unlikely to alter Manchester United's transfer plans as the club continue reshaping their squad.
What's next?
Manchester United will wait to see whether Juventus or Como decide to formalise their interest in Joshua Zirkzee. With Benjamin Šeško and Matheus Cunha now ahead of him in the pecking order, the Dutch striker appears increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford before the transfer window closes.
