Juventus revive Jean-Clair Todibo interest amid Lucumí pursuit

Juventus have revived their interest in West Ham United defender Jean-Clair Todibo as Luciano Spalletti continues his search for a new centre-back.

According to reports in Italy, the Bianconeri are considering the French defender as an alternative to Bologna's Jhon Lucumí, with negotiations for the Colombia international proving difficult.

Todibo has re-emerged on Juventus' shortlist two years after a proposed move to Turin collapsed.

The report states Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí remains Juventus' preferred defensive target this summer.

However, Bologna's €25 million asking price has complicated negotiations, prompting the Serie A giants to explore alternative options.

Juventus are also planning for the possibility of Federico Gatti leaving, with Napoli reportedly interested in signing the Italy international.

Jean-Clair Todibo has once again become a realistic option for the Turin club.

Juventus came close to signing the Frenchman in the summer of 2024 before West Ham beat them to his signature from Nice in a deal worth €40 million.

Now, with West Ham having been relegated from the Premier League, Todibo's future has become uncertain once again.

The 25-year-old has made 54 appearances for the London club since arriving in England.

Juventus are not alone in the race for Todibo.

The report claims Atalanta, now led by former Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, are also monitoring the defender's situation.

Marseille have likewise been credited with an interest in the former Barcelona centre-back.

Todibo remains under contract at West Ham until 2029 and reportedly earns around €4 million net per season.

Juventus are expected to continue pursuing Lucumí while keeping Todibo as a strong alternative if negotiations with Bologna fail to progress. Competition from Atalanta and Marseille could intensify if West Ham become open to selling the French defender.
