as they try to avoid what now seems certain relegation - but insists things can change 'really quickly.'
McKenna's men are still searching for their first league win of 2025 - the only club in English football still winless this year - and are now nine points behind Wolves in the race to stay in the Premier League with just nine games left.
Town's first half collapse against Nottingham Forest in their 4-2 home defeat on Saturday, coupled with Wolves 2-1 win at rock-bottom Southampton, makes the task look insurmountable.
But McKenna insists they can still turn things around, with 27 points left to play for.
Town now have more than two weeks before their next clash, a trip to Bournemouth on Wednesday, April 2, followed quickly by a must-win home game with Wolves on Saturday, April 5th.
"I think there's been a mountain to climb all season," McKenna insisted. "The gap's big, there's no doubt about that in terms of points. That is not where we wanted to be at this stage.
"On the other hand we have two really quick games in succession when we come back (from the 17-day break), we play Bournemouth and Wolves in a three day period, and that's a chance to pick up six points and things can change really, really quickly.
"But there's no point in us thinking about how many wins we're going to need or the run we need to put together.
"We need to try and win the next one, to go to Bournemouth and try and get something, then after that we have Wolves here. The picture can still change pretty quickly.
"We need to use the next two weeks well then we have a big week coming up."
