Leeds United agree deal to sign Harry Wilson on free transfer

Leeds United have won the race to sign Harry Wilson after reaching an agreement with the Fulham winger ahead of a free transfer this summer.

Football Place understands the Wales international has agreed terms with Leeds and is now set to complete a move to Elland Road once his contract at Fulham expires at the end of June.

The 29-year-old has been in discussions with Leeds over the past few days and is expected to undergo a medical shortly before signing a long-term deal.

Wilson has been on Leeds' radar for some time.

The Yorkshire club came close to signing the attacker from Fulham last summer, with an agreement understood to have been reached before the deal collapsed at the final stage.

Almost 12 months later, Leeds have finally secured their man without paying a transfer fee.

The winger arrives following one of the strongest seasons of his career, having registered 11 goals and nine assists across all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign.

His performances were among the bright spots of Fulham's season, including a stunning strike against Tottenham Hotspur that earned the Premier League Goal of the Month award in December.

Leeds are prepared to make Wilson one of the club's highest-paid players.

The Welsh international is set to sign a three-year contract with the option of a fourth season, while also receiving a substantial increase on the wages he earned at Craven Cottage.

Wilson was previously earning around £55,000 per week at Fulham, but his new package is expected to place him alongside Leeds' top earners approximately £90,000 per week.

The agreement also includes a significant signing-on fee as part of the free-transfer package.

Fulham made efforts to retain Wilson and are understood to have presented a strong offer to extend his stay.

However, the situation changed following Marco Silva's departure.

Sources indicate Wilson informed the club of his desire to leave once it became clear Silva would not remain at Craven Cottage, opening the door for Leeds to accelerate negotiations.

Everton were also credited with interest earlier this year but were unable to secure a deal.

After four seasons at Fulham and 187 appearances for the club, Wilson will now begin a new chapter in West Yorkshire.

Wilson's medical is expected to be completed shortly, after which Leeds will formally announce the signing. The winger is set to become one of the club's marquee additions of the summer as preparations continue for the new Premier League campaign.
