Chelsea are preparing to enter the race for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, with reports suggesting a potential “hijack” move could reshape one of the summer’s most competitive transfer battles.
The 23-year-old has attracted widespread attention following a strong season, placing him firmly on the radar of several top Premier League clubs ahead of the upcoming window.
Elliot Anderson transfer race intensifies as Chelsea plot move
Manchester City are currently viewed as leading contenders for Anderson, while Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have all been linked with interest.
Chelsea are now expected to join that group, with plans to challenge for his signature and potentially disrupt existing negotiations.
The scale of the deal could be significant, with reports indicating a valuation in the region of £100m — a figure that may increase depending on performance and external factors in the coming months.
Rising value reflects growing influence
Anderson’s development since joining Nottingham Forest has been notable, evolving into a central figure for both club and country.

From the matches we’ve followed involving Nottingham Forest this season, Anderson has consistently contributed across phases of play, combining defensive work with forward progression. That balance has made him one of the more complete midfield profiles currently available in the market.
However, it remains too early to confirm whether any club will meet the reported valuation.
Manchester clubs face financial considerations
While Manchester City remain strongly positioned, Manchester United’s involvement may depend on financial flexibility, with reports suggesting the proposed fee could prove challenging.
Chelsea’s entry into the race adds another layer of competition, particularly given their willingness to invest in high-value targets in recent windows.
Player focus remains unchanged
Despite the growing speculation, Anderson has maintained a clear focus on his immediate objectives, including international commitments.
His performances have continued despite personal challenges, including his recent return to action following a family bereavement.

I don’t see this happening. Atleast not to Chelsea. We have Caicedo and Enzo. He would like to be a starter and for 100m we would have a decent defender and GK. We need wingers as well, my days my club is death
