Destiny Udogie transfer interest grows as Fiorentina join Juventus chase

Fiorentina have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie, according to reports in Italy, although the Premier League club’s reported €50m asking price is viewed as a significant obstacle.

Interest in the Italy international has already been linked to Juventus in recent weeks, with the Turin club said to be considering the left-back as a potential replacement for Andrea Cambiaso. Various proposals have been mentioned in Italian media, including player-exchange scenarios involving Juventus assets.

Now, Corriere dello Sport reports that Fiorentina are also exploring the possibility of bringing Udogie back to Serie A. The move is being driven in part by sporting director Fabio Paratici, who originally signed the defender for Tottenham from Udinese in 2022 and is understood to be keen on a reunion.

Fiorentina are expected to reshape their full-back department this summer. With uncertainty surrounding several players in the position and injury concerns affecting their current options, the club are assessing the market for reinforcements.

Udogie is admired internally, but Tottenham’s reported €50m valuation is considered excessive by Fiorentina. The Italian club are said to have concerns about committing such a fee given the defender’s recent fitness record.

The 23-year-old endured a difficult campaign disrupted by muscle and knee problems. Reports indicate those issues caused him to miss a substantial number of matches during the season, reducing his availability for Spurs.

A loan proposal has been mentioned as a theoretical solution, but there is little indication Tottenham would consider allowing a long-term contracted player to leave on those terms.

For now, there is no indication that Udogie is actively seeking a move away from north London. Tottenham also remain protected by a long-term contract that reportedly runs until 2030, strengthening their position in any negotiations.

Juventus and Fiorentina both appear interested, but any serious progress is likely to depend on whether Tottenham soften their valuation or a more creative deal structure emerges during the summer transfer window.
