Daniel Farke has played down the likelihood of late Leeds United exits, insisting he has received no requests from players to leave as the January transfer window enters its final days.
Speaking ahead of Leeds’ home clash with Arsenal, the Whites boss struck a calm tone, stressing unity within the squad despite limited opportunities for several senior players this season.
Daniel Farke rules out Leeds United exits — for now
Leeds have seen competition for places intensify following a busy summer, leaving players such as Sam Byram, Willy Gnonto and Joël Piroe struggling for consistent Premier League minutes.
One departure has already been sanctioned, with Jack Harrison joining Fiorentina on loan earlier this month. However, Farke made clear that situation was an exception rather than a trend.
“No one has knocked on my door [to ask to leave],” Farke told reporters.
“I was open about Jack Harrison — he wanted to leave and due to his professional behaviour, we made this possible, also because he had really limited minutes recently.”
Squad commitment reassures Leeds boss
Beyond Harrison’s exit, Farke says there has been no unrest within the group, despite speculation around players such as Joël Piroe, who has attracted interest from Championship clubs including Ipswich Town.
“Apart from this, no one has knocked on my door and asked us to leave,” he said.
“I don’t expect this, because all the players train fully committed.”
The Leeds manager added that the club are not actively trying to move players on and see value in maintaining depth during a demanding second half of the season.
“We need all of them, and we’re also not tempted to send any player away — not at all.”
Transfer calm despite outside noise
While Farke acknowledged the unpredictable nature of deadline-day football, he stressed there are currently no signals suggesting exits are imminent.
“You never know at this level what happens in the upcoming days,” he admitted.
“But I have no indications that someone has an offer or wants to leave. Everything is relaxed and fully focused on the next task.”
That task is survival. Leeds are keen to avoid being dragged into the relegation fight and believe squad stability could be crucial.
Leeds still searching for attacking reinforcement
Although outgoing business appears unlikely, Leeds have not ruled out a late addition. The club are still attempting to bring in another attacker before the window closes, though efforts to sign Jørgen Strand Larsen were recently rebuffed by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
As things stand, Farke may be forced to rely on his existing options as Leeds prepare for a challenging run of fixtures.
Key Insights
- Daniel Farke expects no further Leeds exits this window
- Jack Harrison’s loan move was a special case
- No players have asked to leave despite limited minutes
- Joël Piroe remains at the club despite external interest
- Leeds are still exploring a late attacking signing
What’s Next
With the transfer window nearing its conclusion, Leeds’ focus is expected to remain on results rather than reshaping the squad. If no suitable attacking option emerges, Farke will trust his current group to steer clear of the bottom three and build momentum through the spring.
Should Leeds stick with squad stability — or risk a late move to strengthen their attack?
