Chelsea winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could leave Stamford Bridge in January, with Roma reportedly preparing another attempt to sign the 22-year-old after a frustrating spell under Xabi Alonso.

The former Borussia Dortmund attacker has struggled to establish himself in London, playing just 55 minutes in the Premier League this season.

According to RomaGiallorossa, Roma remain interested in Bynoe-Gittens and believe Chelsea could now consider a loan deal with an option to buy.

That would represent a change from the summer, when the Blues explored including the winger in a potential deal involving Roma midfielder Manu Koné.

Roma return for Bynoe-Gittens after summer setback

Roma attempted to strengthen their attack during the summer transfer window, with Bynoe-Gittens among their targets.

However, manager Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly blocked the proposed arrangement involving Koné, preventing negotiations from progressing.

The Italian club have not abandoned their interest and are expected to pursue another attacking addition in January.

RomaGiallorossa claims Bynoe-Gittens remains highly regarded in Rome, while Alonso is unconvinced by his profile.

The winger's limited opportunities at Chelsea could encourage his representatives to explore alternative destinations.

Chelsea could soften transfer stance

Roma are reportedly optimistic that Chelsea will be more flexible during the winter window.

An initial loan with an option to purchase is now considered possible, although there is no indication that the clubs have reached an agreement.

Bynoe-Gittens was reportedly receptive to joining Roma in the summer, giving the Italian side encouragement that personal terms could be achievable.

Roma intend to establish an agreement with the player's representatives before opening negotiations with Chelsea.

January move offers chance for regular football

Bynoe-Gittens arrived at Chelsea with considerable promise after impressing in Germany, but his development has stalled amid limited playing time.

He featured for fewer than 500 Premier League minutes last season and has remained on the fringes during the current campaign.

A move to Roma could offer an opportunity to rebuild momentum, particularly under Gasperini, who has a reputation for developing attacking players.

For Chelsea, a temporary departure could provide the winger with the regular minutes he has struggled to secure at Stamford Bridge.
