Casemiro Manchester United transfer talks have quietened, as the midfielder decides to stay at Old Trafford — aiming for one final shot at World Cup glory.
The Brazilian has turned down interest from Saudi clubs, choosing instead to stay in the Premier League for at least one more season. It comes after a surprise recall to the Brazil national team by new head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who managed him at Real Madrid.
Ancelotti Gives Casemiro World Cup Boost
Casemiro, now 33, had not played for Brazil in nearly two years. But after strong form at the end of last season under Ruben Amorim, he earned a recall.
He played 90 minutes in both World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay, helping Brazil move to third in the CONMEBOL standings.
“I’m not done yet at Manchester,” said Casemiro, who still dreams of one more World Cup. — Casemiro
Sources say Ancelotti still values Casemiro’s leadership and experience, especially as Brazil enter a new era with a younger core.
No Saudi Switch – Despite Ronaldo Links
Casemiro has been linked to Saudi Pro League sides for over 18 months, including Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr. But the midfielder has reportedly rejected all advances.
While United were open to a sale to reduce their wage bill — Casemiro earns £350,000 per week — they now expect him to stay for 2025/26.
He has one year left on his deal, plus an option for a further 12 months. Amorim is said to be impressed with his recent attitude, even after a tough, injury-hit campaign.
Why Casemiro Staying Helps United
Although Manchester United are planning a squad rebuild, Amorim still sees Casemiro as a key figure in the dressing room — especially with Champions League qualification back on the agenda.
The midfielder could play a crucial role in mentoring Kobbie Mainoo and guiding United’s younger stars next season.

That United money feels the same as Saudi - all jokes aside, this guy was unbelievable in his first season. I do think that experience is needed in a squad, but that pace in the Premier League it seems like he just cant handle it.
