Brentford delivered a major statement ahead of their Premier League opener against Tottenham by thrashing Eintracht Frankfurt 7-0 in their final pre-season friendly.

Kevin Schade starred with two goals and two assists, while Igor Thiago also scored twice. Mamadou Sangare, Dango Ouattara and Keane Lewis-Potter completed the scoring at the Gtech Community Stadium.

After also beating Stade Rennais 4-2, Keith Andrews' side have scored 11 goals across their final two pre-season matches.

Schade leads ruthless Brentford attack

Schade produced the standout performance against Frankfurt, looking confident and dangerous throughout.

Ouattara also continued his impressive summer by scoring after registering a goal and assist against Rennes.

Thiago's brace was another positive sign after the striker scored 25 goals across all competitions last season.

Brentford's attacking improvement has coincided with the arrival of Damien Duff as Andrews' assistant coach. The former Chelsea and Republic of Ireland winger joined the coaching staff this summer after four seasons managing Shelbourne.

Andrews will hope the form of Schade and Ouattara can provide additional goals from wide areas this season.

Sangare looks ready for Premier League

Club-record signing Mamadou Sangare also strengthened his case to start against Tottenham.

The 24-year-old scored an excellent half-volley from outside the penalty area to make it 2-0 and has now started Brentford's final two friendlies.

Sangare operated alongside Vitaly Janelt, with Mathias Jensen playing further forward.

Jensen was another player to impress, producing the pass which created Thiago's second goal.

The performance suggests Andrews may already have settled on much of his starting XI for the Premier League opener.

Brentford show major improvement in squad depth

Brentford also demonstrated the depth now available to Andrews.

Mikkel Damsgaard, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Ethan Pinnock, Yehor Yarmoliuk, Jaidon Anthony and Callum Wilson were among those introduced from the bench.

Several other senior options were either unused or absent entirely, while Sepp van den Berg, Antoni Milambo and Benjamin Fredrick will provide further competition when they return from injury.

That represents a significant improvement from last season, when injuries left Brentford with limited options during their push for European qualification.
