Bournemouth brace for Alex Scott offers as Arsenal approach fails

Bournemouth are braced for Premier League clubs to test their resolve over Alex Scott in the coming days, but the message from the Vitality Stadium is clear: the midfielder is not for sale.

Scott still has two years remaining on his current deal, and Bournemouth are comfortable with the situation even if he does not sign an extension this summer. Their priority is keeping a midfielder who became central to a historic season on the south coast.

The former Bristol City player made 37 Premier League appearances and scored three goals as Bournemouth secured Europa League qualification. His performances also earned him a place at England’s pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.

Although Scott did not make his senior debut in the friendlies against New Zealand and Costa Rica, his involvement reflected a growing reputation that has now attracted several of England’s biggest clubs.

Arsenal are not expected to be the only club asking questions.

Manchester United are looking to strengthen their midfield and are expected to explore the possibility of signing Scott. Chelsea could also increase their interest after suffering a setback in their pursuit of Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka.

Xhaka now appears increasingly likely to remain on Wearside after Sunderland rejected Chelsea’s opening £8m offer, leaving the Blues with reason to consider alternatives.
