Jhon Arias has moved to calm speculation surrounding his future after Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Manchester United, insisting his focus remains firmly on the Premier League despite ongoing exit rumours in Brazil.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers winger has once again found himself at the centre of transfer talk from South America, with reports suggesting discussions could take place regarding a potential return.

Post-match meeting speculation

Ahead of the draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United, Brazilian journalist Emerson Rocha claimed that Arias and his representatives were due to meet Wolves’ directors after the match.

According to the report, the talks were expected to centre on the player’s situation following his adaptation period in English football, with the South American market — particularly Brazil — forming part of the wider conversation. However, there was no suggestion that negotiations had advanced or that a deal was close.

Arias responds: “My moment is here”

Speaking shortly after the match, Arias addressed the rumours directly in an interview with Fred Caldeira, via TNT Sports.

“In Brazil, the priority is always Fluminense,” Arias said. “It is a club that my family and I care about and consider our home. Of course, it does not depend only on me. It depends on Fluminense and on the club.”

Crucially, the winger was emphatic about where his immediate future lies.

“But my moment is here. My present is here, so I am 100% focused on doing good things here, doing my best, because I know the player I am and what I can do.”

Familiar noise, no outcome

Brazilian outlets have repeatedly revisited the idea of Arias returning to South America, particularly whenever Wolves are in the spotlight. Yet, as has often been the case, the speculation has not translated into concrete developments.

Arias’ comments underline a consistent message: while emotional ties to Fluminense remain strong, his professional focus is on establishing himself in English football.

What it means

For now, Wolves can take comfort in their winger’s clarity. Despite persistent noise from abroad, Arias appears committed to making his mark in the Premier League — leaving talk of a return to Brazil as just that: talk.

Should Wolves shut down the speculation with a long-term plan for Arias — or is a future move to Brazil inevitable?
