West Ham United have confirmed that Jean-Clair Todibo will join the club on a permanent basis from OGC Nice on 1 July, following the successful conclusion of a loan deal signed last summer.

The 25-year-old France international defender made 29 appearances in all competitions during the 2024/25 campaign and impressed during the latter half of the season after returning from injury. He was a consistent starter as West Ham secured key victories over Arsenal and Manchester United under Graham Potter.

Why Todibo’s Signing Matters for West Ham

Securing Todibo on a permanent basis ensures continuity at the heart of West Ham’s defence — an area that was previously unsettled by injuries and inconsistency. His experience, athleticism, and positional discipline make him a strong fit for Potter’s tactical system moving forward.

“Todibo’s impact late in the season was vital to West Ham’s strong finish. A calm presence at the back and a smart piece of business.” — Club insider, via West Ham TV

Soler and Ferguson Return to Parent Clubs

Carlos Soler and Evan Ferguson have both departed the London Stadium following the expiry of their respective loan spells.

  • Soler, 28, made 33 appearances after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in August. He scored once — in a 3-2 win over Fulham that marked Graham Potter’s first Premier League win as West Ham manager.
  • Ferguson, 20, joined in January from Brighton & Hove Albion but was limited to one start and seven appearances from the bench.

The club extended their thanks to both players for their service.

What’s Next?

With Jean-Clair Todibo now locked in on a permanent basis, West Ham’s defensive rebuild under Graham Potter continues. The club is expected to be active in the summer market, especially with multiple loan exits confirmed and reinforcements required ahead of the 2025/26 season.
