Liverpool's focus shifts to securing key contracts for Van Dijk and Salah
While Liverpool are on the verge of clinching the Premier League title, attention has also been drawn to off-field matters, notably the contract situations of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah. Both stars have contracts set to expire at the end of the season, leaving fans concerned about their futures at Anfield.
However, recent reports offer optimism to Liverpool supporters, with new updates on both Van Dijk and Salah. According to renowned transfer expert David Ornstein, talks regarding the duo’s contract extensions are progressing well.
Virgil van Dijk recently confirmed that there had been "progress" in negotiations, though he did not provide any specific details. But Ornstein has since clarified the situation, revealing to NBC Sports: "It’s now more about when than if Van Dijk will put pen to paper, barring any last-minute hiccups."
This positive news extends to Mohamed Salah as well. Ornstein shares that Liverpool has been confident in retaining the Egyptian superstar's services. The situation is now the same as Van Dijk's, with Ornstein stating, "It’s more a case of when rather than if Salah will sign a new deal." This confirmation is sure to bring relief to those at Anfield, who would have been devastated to see the two players leave.
Salah, who is currently enjoying one of the best seasons by any Premier League player in recent history, and Van Dijk, a cornerstone of Liverpool's defense, both have much to offer at the highest level of European football. Given their immense contributions to the club’s success, their departures on free transfers would have been a major setback. Fortunately, it seems that will not be the case.
Salah is valued at €55 million, while Van Dijk stands at €28 million according to Transfermarkt. Both players are expected to feature in Liverpool's next match against West Ham United as Premier League action resumes.

Best thing that could happen actually. Even with Trent probably leaving, it's good for Liverpool to keep those 2 at least for a few years. Even 2 players you cant replace that easy no a days.
