Liverpool 2–1 West Ham United
Anfield witnessed another dramatic night as Liverpool edged closer to their first Premier League title since 2020 with a last-gasp 2-1 win over West Ham.
Luis Díaz opened the scoring in the 18th minute after being played through by a sublime Mohamed Salah pass — just days after the Egyptian signed a new two-year contract extension.
Despite their bright start, Liverpool couldn’t build on the momentum. West Ham capitalized and levelled just before halftime when Andy Robertson inadvertently deflected a Jarrod Bowen cross into his own net.
The second half saw both sides press for a winner, but it was Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool’s captain, who rose above the rest in the 90th minute to head in from a corner and send the Kop into raptures.
With Arsenal now 13 points behind and six matches remaining, Liverpool could be crowned champions as early as next weekend — if Arsenal drop points against Ipswich and the Reds beat Leicester.
