Valencia need Leeds agreement to secure Ramazani transfer

Valencia will require cooperation from Leeds United if they are to keep Largie Ramazani beyond this season, following the winger’s dramatic turnaround in form at the Mestalla.

According to El Desmarque, the Belgian forward has revived his campaign after a difficult first half of the season, transforming his status within Carlos Corberán’s squad.

Ramazani joined Valencia on loan last summer but initially struggled for rhythm and minutes. At one stage, reports in January suggested the Spanish club had considered terminating the deal early due to limited impact.

That narrative has shifted.

The 23-year-old has been decisive in two of Valencia’s three victories over the past month and has even been nominated for February’s goal of the month award. His renewed confidence is visible, with exuberant celebrations reflecting a player enjoying his football again.

Having followed Valencia’s recent fixtures, his direct running and improved decision-making in the final third have added needed dynamism to their attack.

Despite Ramazani’s resurgence, Valencia face structural challenges if they wish to retain him.

The original loan agreement did not include a purchase option. In fact, Leeds inserted protective clauses allowing them to recall the player if he failed to receive consistent minutes. Those clauses were never activated, and Ramazani has now justified his role.

For a permanent transfer to materialise, Leeds would need to soften their initial position. Valencia’s financial constraints make a large upfront fee unlikely.

From Leeds’ perspective, the player’s improved form strengthens their negotiating position. Whether they view him as part of their long-term plans or a saleable asset will shape discussions.

However, it remains uncertain whether Valencia can meet financial expectations without structured instalments or another loan arrangement.

Ramazani’s performances over the final months of the season will be pivotal. Sustained impact could increase Valencia’s determination to negotiate.
