Leeds United finalising Lucas Perri transfer as Torino medical nears

Lucas Perri is closing in on a move from Leeds United to Torino, with the two clubs working to finalise the remaining details before the Brazilian goalkeeper travels to Italy for his medical.

The transfer has been progressing for several days, but negotiations have now entered their final phase as both clubs look to resolve the last outstanding issues surrounding the agreement.

Perri is expected to leave Elland Road after slipping down the goalkeeping pecking order following James Trafford's arrival from Manchester City.

Leeds and Torino have already agreed the framework of a deal that would see Perri initially join on loan.

The agreement also includes an option to buy worth €11 million, although discussions continue over how that fee would be paid if the Italian club decide to make the move permanent.

Leeds are also pushing to include a sell-on clause, with the percentage still being negotiated before the transfer can receive final approval.

Once those details are resolved, Perri is expected to travel to Turin to complete his medical.

The Brazilian is understood to be keen to complete the move after recognising his opportunities at Leeds have become increasingly limited.

Following Trafford's arrival, Perri would once again find himself as a backup goalkeeper at Elland Road, prompting him to seek a transfer where he can play regularly.

Torino are expected to offer the 28-year-old the chance to establish himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper under new head coach Ignazio Abate.

Although Torino will not compete in European football this season, the Serie A club's long-term project is believed to have appealed to Perri.

The Italian side also have a reputation for developing players before selling them on for significant profits, something that could benefit both the goalkeeper and Leeds if a sell-on clause is included in the agreement.

With negotiations now focused on contractual details rather than the structure of the transfer itself, an official announcement appears increasingly close.

Leeds and Torino are expected to conclude negotiations over the payment structure and sell-on clause before Perri travels to Italy. If those final details are agreed, the goalkeeper will undergo his medical and complete his move to Serie A in the coming days.
